Loudness targets for streaming platforms
Spotify normalizes to -14 LUFS integrated. Apple Music to -16 LUFS. True peak needs to stay below -1 dBTP or you're going to have a bad time with lossy codecs. Phantom's analyze_loudness tool measures integrated loudness, true peak, and LRA (loudness range). Those are the numbers that tell you whether the mix is actually ready, not whether it sounds ready.
Compare against genre references
"I want it to sound like this." Every mastering session has that moment. Phantom's compare_to_reference does an A/B analysis against a specific track and shows you where your mix diverges and by how much. compare_to_profile does the same thing against genre-specific profiles when there's no single reference to pull from.
Check stereo width and phase correlation
A mix can sound great in headphones and fall apart on a mono club system. Phase issues that are inaudible in stereo get loud in mono. Phantom's analyze_stereo tool reports stereo width, mid/side balance, and phase correlation coefficient. Below 0.5 on correlation is worth fixing before the mastering session starts.
