What we collect

When you submit a form on this site (waitlist, contact, or licensing inquiry), we collect the information you provide: your email address, name, and any message or details you include. This data is stored in MailerLite for email communication and is never sold to third parties.

Analytics

We use PostHog for privacy-friendly analytics. While your tab is open we keep a temporary anonymous ID in your browser (sessionStorage) so pages you view count as one visit. It's deleted when you close the tab. No cookies, ever. We do not track you across other websites. We collect usage data — page views, scroll depth, clicks, and on-site interactions such as docs searches, copied commands, campaign tags, and broken links — to understand how the site is used. PostHog data is hosted in the US.

If you submit the waitlist, contact, or licensing form, the email address you provided (and your name or company, if you gave one) is attached to your analytics profile. This is the only case where a persistent identifier is set; otherwise your analytics identity resets when you close the tab.

CLI telemetry

The Phantom install script reports install events (started, completed, failed) to fadelab.net as small JSON payloads. Each report contains the event, a per-run install identifier, your OS and architecture, the Phantom version being installed when known, the chosen extras, and the install method. A failure report adds one of six fixed reason codes (for example, unsupported OS or a failed package install) -- never raw error text or log contents. These events also include your IP address, which we use only to derive your country-level location and do not use to identify you. This telemetry helps us understand which platforms to support.

The request has no effect on the install. Telemetry is on by default; opt out by running curl -sSL https://fadelab.net/install | PHANTOM_NO_TELEMETRY=1 bash. The variable must be set on bash rather than on curl, or the installer never sees it.

If you sign up for the waitlist, we will email you when Phantom Studio is ready. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Contact and licensing inquiries receive a confirmation reply and are handled by a human.
